Fafa’s “Hey Favour” EP: A story of faith, purpose and perseverance
One of the project’s standout tracks, “Ama 2K,” is a unique fusion of contemporary gospel and traditional African sounds, showcasing Fafa’s ability to honour culture while embracing a modern musical identity. Another unforgettable moment on the EP came from a verse that she says was revealed to her in a dream, highlighting the spiritual foundation behind her songwriting.
Far more than just a collection of songs, Hey Favour tells the story of an artist whose music has been shaped by divine inspiration, family, and life’s most challenging moments.
The project is also filled with meaningful family contributions. A powerful vamp featured on the EP was written by her brother during her very first live performance in 2023, while one of the English songs is a treasured gift from the personal archives of her father and pastor, Collen Maluleke.
Although the music carries a message of hope and joy, the journey to releasing Hey Favour was anything but easy.
Behind the scenes, Fafa faced multiple setbacks, including postponed release dates, financial pressures, moments of self-doubt, and a difficult battle with depression. Through every obstacle, she remained anchored by her faith and sense of purpose.
Reflecting on what sustained her during those difficult seasons, Fafa shared:
“I’m me, Fafa — no one can ever be me. My identity as an artist, the foundation of it, is Christ.”
That conviction has become the heartbeat of both her music and ministry.
With Hey Favour now available, Fafa hopes every listener experiences more than great music. Her mission remains to lead people into an authentic encounter with God through worship, encouraging audiences to discover and boldly confess their own faith in Christ.
Hey Favour marks the beginning of what promises to be an inspiring chapter in Fafa’s musical journey—one built on faith, authenticity, resilience, and a calling to use music as a vessel for worship.
